Registration and Payment

  • To better understand the different types of committees offered at VUMUN, we encourage you to explore our General Assemblies and/or Crisis Committees Pages.

  • Position papers are recommended but not required for delegates.

  • Yes. At the beginning of each Committee session, the chair or co-chair of the committee will take attendance. The Chief of Staff will report all absences to your school delegations’ advisor.

  • We welcome faculty advisors to attend committee sessions and watch their students debate. Faculty advisers will be given all the links to committee sessions they have students in. Any questions or concerns that arise should be directed to the Director External Affairs, Matthew Ye, who will work with Secretariat and the chairs to ensure that committees run well.

  • Pre-written resolutions are not allowed at VUMUN. We aim to foster discussion among the delegates and to promote cooperation in addressing the various topics of debate. Please note that VUMUN has a strict zero-tolerance policy with regards to plagiarism.

  • Technology is permitted during unmoderated caucuses in General Assemblies to assist delegates in drafting resolutions. Beyond this, however, technology is not allowed in committee settings.
